Studi Pemanfaatan Limbah Serbuk Kayu dan Zeolit dalam Pembuatan Briket Ramah Lingkungan dengan Analisis Nilai Kalor dan Laju Pembakaran
Abstract
This study investigates the characteristics of biomass briquettes produced from sawdust waste with zeolite as an additive using three composition ratios: 90:10, 85:15, and 80:20. The evaluated parameters were calorific value and combustion rate, which are key indicators of briquette performance as an alternative fuel. An experimental method with a comparative approach was employed. Briquettes were manufactured using the three composition variations under identical processing conditions, while density measurements followed the ASTM D2395-17 standard to ensure consistency among samples. The experimental results showed that the proportion of sawdust and zeolite significantly affected the calorific value and combustion rate of the briquettes. Each composition exhibited distinct combustion characteristics, indicating that the selection of raw material composition influences the overall fuel performance. Among the tested formulations, the optimum composition can be determined based on the intended application and desired combustion properties. These findings demonstrate that sawdust-based biomass briquettes with zeolite have considerable potential as an environmentally friendly and renewable solid fuel. In addition to providing stable combustion characteristics for household, commercial, and small-scale industrial applications, the utilization of sawdust waste contributes to sustainable waste management and supports the development of renewable energy resources.
