Analisis Relevansi dan Proyeksi Pengembangan Standar Bengkel Teknik Kendaraan Ringan menuju Standar Industri di Pendidikan Teknik Mesin UNS

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relevance of Light Vehicle Engineering (LVE) workshop standards at Mechanical Engineering Education UNS towards industrial standards and to formulate development projections for the workshop to approach automotive industry standards. This study employed a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design, in which quantitative data were collected first and followed by qualitative data collection. The sampling technique for quantitative data used total sampling, while qualitative data used purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation and interviews. The results showed that the workshop space functionality aspect achieved a percentage of 84% categorized as “very appropriate”, the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) aspect achieved 100% categorized as “very appropriate”, and the practical equipment suitability aspect achieved 27% categorized as “less appropriate”. Overall, the relevance of the LVE workshop standards towards industrial standards reached 48.5% categorized as “moderately appropriate”. The workshop development projection is directed toward rearranging the workshop layout, adding work stalls, and improving practical equipment in accordance with industrial standards.
