Abstract

Demand for wood as a construction material is generally met from felling the timber that has a good quality and the age old wood causingdeforestation for timber. This happen because the growth rate is not proportional to the speed of logging or timber utilization. One alternative toovercome this problem is the use of Sengon Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) Wood because this is a short timber harvest time is 5-10 years soit can be guaranteed availability. Easel frame is a truss structure that serves to hold the roof loads and loads itself while providing a form of theroof of a building. Increasingly severe order the easel frame, the greater dimension of the column that sustains below. Use of Sengon LVL lumberis expected to produce light easels because it has a specific gravity of 0.41 g/cm3 so this need for research on the matter. This research wasconducted with the specimen press test of 2 easels frame structure of LVL sengon. Testing is done at the expense of the press centric slowly at eachknot point that has been clamped to the specimen till no longer able to accept the additional burden. The results showed that the framework LVLsengon easels occurs stability failure only on one rod that is only in the area close to the stem placement. Easel frame structure can not be perfectglobal buckling and local buckling only while the stem and its connection to other parts failures still occur. Easel frame structure still proved safefor use as construction but for a double rod buckling capacity is still not able to reach to the maximum load. Failure buckling capacity LVLwooden horses sengon on testing occurs at the smallest value of the test rod bend double without klos has been done in previous studies. Deflectionthat occurs in testing linearly moving up but there is a considerable difference with the theoretical deflection of approximately 10 mm.
