PENGARUH RASIO SEMEN - FLY ASH TERHADAP SIFAT SEGAR DAN KUAT TEKAN HIGH VOLUME FLY ASH - SELF COMPACTING CONCRETE (HVFA-SCC)

Abstract

The use of conventional concrete in the bone-dense area is felt no longer inadequate, because of porosity frequently occurring in the concrete. The useof vibrator in the bone-dense area does not guarantee the good concrete production. Self-compacting concrete uses its own weight to be flowable fillingin the space without compacting process at all. The addition of round-soft fly ash will serve as lubricant and filler. Fly ash, as lubricant, couldreduce the friction force between aggregates, thus a workable is produced. The use of fly ash in high volume can also increase the concretedeformation and viscosity properties, therefore a flowable, filling-space concrete can be produced. Fly ash, as filler, can fill in the inter-aggregatecavities, thus the concrete produced will be denser, consequently will increase the compressive strength of concrete. The purpose of this research is toanalyze fresh properties characteristic and compressive strength of concrete with high volume fly ash.The method employed in this research was anexperimental method, by means of developing concrete mix composition using fly ash as the substitute for some cement in HVFA-SCC mix. Thefresh concrete testing was 5 (five) methods : slump flow table test, j-ring flow table test, l-box test, box type test, v-funnel test. The hard concreteexamination was conducted on the compressive strength of cylinder concreteon the days 7, 28, 56, and 90. The result of research showed that theuse of fly ash at certain level could affect the fresh property and compressive strength of concrete mix. In this research, the higher fly ash can increaseor decrease the value of fresh properties and compressive strength.
