Hubungan Intensitas Penggunaan Instagram @bemsvundip_ Terhadap Tingkat Penerimaan Informasi di Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Diponegoro

Abstract


The existence of social media makes it easy for everyone to access and consume information, especially on Instagram. In Indonesia, Instagram users are dominated by the age group of 18—24, particularly filled by individuals who is currently a student. As an organization that sees this opportunity, Student Executive Board of Vocational School Diponegoro University (BEM SV UNDIP) 2021 provides information through content on Instagram. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the Instagram usage intensity of Vocational School Diponegoro University students to the reception level of academic and non-academic information obtained through BEM SV UNDIP 2021’s Instagram account by using uses and gratification theory as its framework. This study used primary data source from online questionnaire filled out by 96 respondents as sample which was determined by incidental sampling technique. The result of this study shows a very significant relationship with a significance value of 0.001 and test the correlation with the Kendal's Tau method, the correlation coefficient value of 0.328 which states a quite strong relationship between Instagram usage intensity by Vocational School students at Diponegoro University and the reception level of academic and non-academic information through BEM SV UNDIP 2021’s Instagram account.
