Silica Synthesis Using Acid Method from Various Types of Ash: A Comprehensive Characterization Study
Abstract
Industrial development in Indonesia is increasing in line with the need for energy. To meet this energy demand, many industries choose to use a relatively inexpensive energy source, namely biomass combustion. However, there is a byproduct of biomass combustion, namely scouring ash. Scouring ash is a general term that describes all forms of ash produced from combustion. This will be useful for applications in addressing environmental issues, including recycling waste and producing high-value eco-materials. In this study, silica (SiO2) was produced using one method for extracting silica, namely the acid method using scouring ash waste.
