Pengaruh Eceng Gondok (Eichornia crassipes) Terhadap Peningkatan Kualitas Air Sumur Kecamatan Grogol Sukoharjo

Abstract

Water as one of the environment’s abiotic components plays a very important for human life. Problems associated with water as the basic needs of daily life, both as drinking water, clean water, industrial, and irrigation lies in quantity and quality. Groundwater quality in wells used by most of resident in Telukan Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo is not so well. It is marked by water which are turbid, smelly, yellow, and also Fe and Mn content exceeds quality standard. Based on these facts, it is necessary to analyze the quality of well water and water quality improvement efforts with phytoremediation by using Eichornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms. This study aims to: 1) know the quality of well water in Telukan Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo, 2) know the influence of Eichornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms toward increasing of well water quality in Telukan Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo. This study is an experimental research. The population used in this study is well water in Telukan Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo. The sampling technique is done by purposive sampling. The sample in this study is well water taken from 3 wells (3 points) in Telukan Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo. Then, laboratory test result is analyzed using analysis of variance test (ANOVA) by SPSS 17.The result of analysis showed that well water quality in Telukan Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo has not fulfill the quality standard of the Minister of Health Regulation No.492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010 on Drinking Water Quality Requirements on odor, color, TDS, turbidity, pH, Fe, and Mn parameters. Based on the results of hypothesis testing can be concluded that there is influence Eichornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms toward increasing of well water quality in Telukan Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo with sig. 0,000 on the odor, color, TDS, turbidity, pH, Fe, and Mn parameters.
