Sintesis Nanoselulosa dari Batang Bambu menggunakan Hidrolisis Asam dan Gelombang Ultrasonik sebagai adsorben Logam Kadmium(II) dalam Limbah Industri Elektroplating

Abstract


Perkembangan industri di Indonesia meningkat dengan cepat, salah satunya adalah industri elektroplating. Industri electroplating menimbulkan dampak negatif terutama limbah yang dihasilkan. Limbah yang paling banyak mendapat perhatian dalam industri elektroplating adalah limbah logam berat seperti kadmium (Cd). Kadmium (Cd) dianggap sebagai logam yang sangat beracun tanpa diketahui fungsi biologisnya. Oleh karena itu diperlukan pengolahan limbah terlebih dahulu sebelum limbah tersebut dibuang ke lingkungan. Metode adsorpsi diketahui merupakan metode yang paling efektif untuk menghilangkan kandungan logam dalam limbah. Material adsorben berbasis biomassa lebih disukai karena murah dan mempunyai kapasitas adsorpsi yang tinggi. Salah satu adsorben biomassa yang potensial sebagai adsorben logam berat adalah nanoselulosa dari batang bambu karena kandungan selulosa yang cukup tinggi yaitu (42,2-53,6%). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui karakterisasi serta kemampuan adsorpsi dari nanoselulosa batang bambu yang telah disentesis. Karakterisasi nanoselulosa yang dihasilkan diuji menggunakan SEM dan FTIR. Hasil FTIR menunjukkan 2 daerah serapan utama yaitu pada panjang gelombang 3789,07 dan 3431,97 cm-1yang menunjukkan gugus fungsi OH dan panjang gelombang 1500,44 cm-1,1426,27 cm-1 serta 1426,27 cm-1 yang menunjukkan gugus fungsi C=C. Kapasitas adsorpsi maksimum terjadi pada pH 7, waktu kontak 180 menit, dan massa adsorben 0,2 gram.
