Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena adanya temuan BPOM mengungkapkan bahwa obat sirup yang beredar di pasaran mengandung zat berbahaya etilen glikol (EG) dan dietilen glikol (DEG), dengan munculnya isu ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran di kalangan masyarakat dan menimbulkan kerugian bagi apotek atau toko obat yang menjual obat sirup. Tugas pokok BPOM adalah mengawasi setiap produk yang ada di pasaran, terutama untuk produk yang dikonsumsi oleh badan sesuai dengan Pasal 30 Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen. Oleh sebab itu kiranya penulis perlu menganalisis lebih jauh mengenai tanggung jawab BPOM terhadap peredaran obat sirup yang mengandung zat berbahaya dan Bagaimana peran BPOM dalam mengatasi peredaran obat sirup yang mengandung zat berbahaya.
