MODAL SOSIAL MASYARAKAT DALAM PENGELOLAAN HUTAN RAKYAT (Studi Fenomenologi Hutan Rakyat di Kelurahan Selopuro, Kecamatan Batuwarno, Kabupaten Wonogiri)
Abstract
This research has a purpose to represent how is the form society's social capital in Selopuro in managing private forest and the practice of using that modal in social life. A theory whic is used in this research is the theory social capital from Pierre Bourdie, which is in that theory, Pierre Bourdie has divided the kind of social capital into four types: economic capital, social capital, cultural capital, and symbolic capital. This theory is used to categorize social capital in Selopuro in managing private forest and the practice of using that modal in social life. Furthermore, this study belongs to qualitative research. The method which is used in this research is phenomological. The data of this research were obtained through In-depth interview, observation, and documentation. The selection techniques of this research uses purposive sampling. Moreover, in order to test the validity of the data that have been collected, the researchers use a Technique Triangulation. In analyzing the data, the researchers adopt the framework developed by Miles and Huberman (1994) to describe the major phases of data analysis: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification.
The results of research show that managing private forest and their social life, economic capital can be seen such as property, land, etc. In managing the private forest, economic capital owened by someone has a strong influence in managing the private forest. In life, economic capital used by society in order to suffice their daily life such as social living, educational cost, and health cost. Moreover, the private forest is also used by the society as the moneybox. Social capital consists of social relations between individuals, or relations and network which roles as the resource in managing the private forest. Private forest is also capable of being medium of socialization to the society. Cultural capital includes a knowledge, how to speak, how to associate, and how to self-carriage. Cultural capital is also in the form of inheritance of values of attitudes, knowledges, way of life, and religious teaching. Furthermore, symbolic capital can be derived from a someone's dignity, status or a prestige for instance, someone's position in the society. In addition, symbolic capital is acquired by society from the descent of their work. Symbolic capital can be used a manager to access the network and management in private forest, the interests, and a determinant of status in society.
