DINAMIKA RELASI SOSIAL DALAM AKTIVITAS KIRAB BUDAYA GREBEG SUDIRO

Abstract

Culture is inseparable from our lives. The existence of culture is now often intimidated by globalization. The Indonesian government made various efforts to introduce regional culture to the international community. One way is to hold cultural festivals, such as in Surakarta, which holds more than 60 festivals in 2018. One of the most gaining attention is Grebeg Sudiro. Grebeg Sudiro is an expression of cultural integration between Chinese traditions and Javanese traditions. The focus of this paper is on one of series of Grebeg Sudiro events, namely Kirab Budaya. This study aims to determine the dynamics of social relations in the cultural activities of Grebeg Sudiro. The dynamics of social relations that occur in the Kirab Budaya Sudiro Grebeg are the perpetrators, the number of participant groups, the number of participants and then also affect the implementation time and route selection. This dynamic is in accordance with Hans Garth and C. Wright Mills theory, things that happened (Kirab Budaya Grebeg Sudiro) in the form of developments, and setbacks (actors and participants), in a certain period (2008-2013) of roles, institutions, and order (first managed by the community then managed by the city government) which includes social structures.
