Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research is to determine patterns of salt marketing channels, functions and role of salt marketing agencies involved in Rembang, costs, profit and marketing margins also the marketing efficiency level of each marketing channel of salt from Kaliori Sub-district in the District Rembang. The basic method used in this research is descriptive analysis. The research located in Kaliori Sub-district of Rembang District. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method is descriptive analysis by looking at the costs, benefits of each marketing agencies as well as analyzing the marketing margin percentage and farmershare to see marketing efficiency. The results show that there are 6 channel marketing in Rembang. Marketing agencies salt in Rembang are merchant wholesalers, wholesalers and salt factory. Merchant wholesalers run exchange function and physical distribution, while wholesalers and factories running three marketing functions, namely exchange, physical distribution and supporting functions. There are 4 inefficient marketing channels, all four channels through the factory as one of the marketing agency. The efficient marketing channel is marketing channel 2 (farmer - merchant wholesalers - wholesaler - distributor) and marketing channels 5 (farmers - wholesaler - distributor).
