Abstract


This research aims to improve the achievement of science learning performance using nature
approach in how to maintain plants and pets for student with intellectual disabilities. This research
have student subjects with intellectual disabilities of seventh grade.
In this research used a technique of data collection is the test, observation and
documentation. The technique of analysis data used descriptive statistics with percentage. The target
value of this study was the achievement of an average value of 80%. Before the given action, the first
researchers gave pre-test. The average values obtained pre-test students is 55%.
Having given action of the application of the natural environment approach, the student's
ability to know how to maintain the plants and pets, the increase is in the form of the acquisition value
of the average in the post-test is 88.55% with very good category.
So the results of this study indicate that the application of the approach to the natural
environment could improve learning achievement Science of Nature in know how to maintain the
plants and pets for the students with intellectual disabilities of seventh grade class.
