Abstract


The background of the research is the guidance of learning program held in Special Education
Department, Faculty of Education Nusantara Islamic University Bandung to develop attitude and
study habits for success in learning. The purpose of research is to: 1) describe of objective condition
held in academic guidance for student with visual impairment; 2) find the conceptual models the
guidance of learning to increase the value of the course; 3) find validated models and implemented in
the field
Research was using combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches and development
metods. The location of the the research is in special education department, faculty of education
Uninus Bandung. The data collection was done by using observation, interviews, documentation
studies and discussion groups. The results of the study that the organisation of academic guidance
had not been optimally implemented. That mean planning, implementation, and follow up the
program does not fit the needs of visually impaired students. As an effort to improve the model, the
institution had developed a conceptual model that was implemented in the institution The model of a
guidance of academic learning has nine components to increase positive attitudes and study habits.
