Abstract


This research aimed to find out the influence of sensorimotor practice administration
on the writing ability of the mental retarded III graders in the even semester of SLB C-G
YPPCG Surakarta in the school year of 2012/2013.
The method used in this research was experimental method with one group pretestposttest
design. The population was the Mental Retarded III Graders of Even Semester of
SLB C-G YPPCG Surakarta in the school year of 2012/2013 consisting of five students.
Technique of collecting data used was test technique, essay test to measure the beginning
writing ability. This study employed non-parametric statistic analysis method, namely
Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with SPSS version 20 help.
The result of descriptive analysis, it could be found that the mean value of posttest
was higher (68.920) than the mean value of pretest (38.34). The result of non-parametric
analysis revealed the Z value = -2.32 with asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.042. The conclusion of
research was that there`re have significant the influence of the sensorimotor practise on the
writing ability of the mental retarded III graders in the even semester of SLB C-G YPPCG
Surakarta in the school year of 2012/2013.
