Abstract


The use of audio instructional media for visually impaired children with special needs to provide exceptional benefits. Audio media can be an alternative selection of other media in the media form of braille, termofoam and another forms of media conjecture.The utilization of audio media are used both inside and outside the classroom. Use in the classroom or integrated with learning as a teaching aids. While the use of outside class functioned as enrichment or as a learning resource. One of audio media model which developed for visually impaired is an audio media story character education for the blind, (calls Cerdiktera). Cerdiktera is an audi media education models by integrating in three basic subject (IPA, PKn and Bahasa Indonesia) and added loads of characters presented in the form of audio stories for the visually impaired.

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of audio media Cerdiktera which measured trough: (1) increase the motivation to learn, (2) have a high accesibility, (3) provide an understanding of matter in accordance with teme, (4) a change character. The results showed that the audio media Cerdiktera are: (1) in the motivation aspect, Cerdiktera can increase students’ motivation with an 86,13% average which is included in the category of very effective, (2) in the accessibility aspect, Cerdiktera obtain a value of 89,21% or very high in accessibility, (3) from the understanding material aspect, Cerdiktera shows the acquisition value of 98,07% or very effective in providing an understanding of matter in accordance with the theme and (4) from character aspects, Cerdiktera provide 98,07% or so effectively used as a medium to instill character education.
