PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN MELALUI PENGGUNAAN STRATEGI DIRECTED READING THINKING ACTIVITY (DRTA) SISWA TUNARUNGU

Abstract


This aim of this research is improving reading comprehension through the use of Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy in grade 2 elementary school of  SLB / B DENA Upakara WONOSOBO.This research is a classroom action research (PTK) , the research done through : planning , implementation , observation and reflection . The subjects of this study is grade 2 deaf students  totaling 10 students . The method of collecting data was test, documentary and observation. The validity of the data is content validity.  Data analysis technique used is comparative descriptive, by comparing the score of inter- cycle test : the test score before using DRTA strategy, and the test score after using DRTA strategy , as much as two cycles Results of the research uses DRTA strategy in reading comprehension:  Before using DRTA strategies, four students got 6,0 score its mean the minimum standard score has not fulfilled. In the cycle I the score increase become 6,5. Though 6,5 were not yet appropriate with the determined indicator that was 7,0. After the improvement being held in the cycle II the scores increased to 7,5. Its mean the score 7,5 has been appropriate with the determined indicator. With the lowest score 7,5 and the highest score 9,5 to 10 students, then could be concluded that all students achieve the determined indicator in reading comprehension.The resume of this research showed that through the use of Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy can improve reading comprehension of grade 2 elementary school of SLB/ B Dena Upakara Wonosobo 2014/2015 academic year.
